| Vision 2030 Engagement Workshop |

The District level consultative engagement workshop ensured that there is alignment with Vision 2030 programme, held at Ehlanzeni District Municipality Council chambers on the 23 February 2012. This was aimed at building wider participation in the overall long term planning and vision process in the country and more specifically within the Mpumalanga Province. The approach was rooted in the commitment of the Premier and the Provincial Government towards ensuring that National and Provincial plans incorporate the views and perspectives of the stakeholders across the Province. The workshop objectives was to facilitate wider provincial engagements with the National Planning Commission Vision 2030, the Mpumalanga Provincial Growth and Development Strategy and the Mpumalanga Economic Growth and Development Plan. It will also secure the district specific inputs on Vision 2030 and on the issues and approaches that need to be considered in the finalization of the National Development Plan. The approach ensured that inputs are focused within the framework of an open group discussions as per the content areas within the 2030 Development Plan. Inputs will be directed at providing summary reviews of the national and provincial plans and clarifying the purpose of the workshop. Discussions were centered on the countered areas within the plan and were guided by focused questions for consideration and response by participants. Officials from the Office of the Premier assisted in facilitating each of the discussion sessions. Discussions were held on Quality Healthcare and Quality Education, Great jobs and Use Resources, Property, Expand Infrastructure, Unite the nation and fight corruption, and inclusive planning and a capable state. |
